Since 2009, the LUCI Urban Strategies Commission led by the City of Liège has been specifically focusing on *the social aspects of light.*

In order to go further in defining this concept, the LUCI Commission, in partnership with the University of Liège (LEMA), is now preparing a publication which will aim at bringing together exemplary practices and experiences which could illustrate this concept.

We therefore invite you to submit your experiences by filling in the attached form if you wish to contribute to this publication.

Issues of interest include participation of the local population in lighting projects, the role of lighting as a catalyst for change in disadvantaged neighbourhoods, public safety and sense of security, area-based interventions in order to differentiate and organise public spaces, lighting as a way to connect these areas to the rest of city etc.

Deadline for submission is on the 15th of April 2011.

The Commission will then select the 10 most relevant and/or significant experiences to include in the publication.

This publication on social lighting will be presented at the upcoming *LUCI*City under Microscope in Liège (Belgium) from September 28-30 2011.
